Academic Writing

Sylvan's Academic Writing Program helps students in 4th grade through high school master a variety of writing formats and styles, including illustrative and descriptive essays, comparative passages, persuasive writing, expository writing, summaries and outlines.

The program includes exercises in:

• Grammar
• Spelling
• Vocabulary
• Paragraph structure
• Essay development

Students learn and practice a proven process to good writing: pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing and publishing. Computer-based assignments help students develop and master important word processing skills.
